Junmin Wang is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Memphis, specializing in and publishing extensively on China’s political economy, organizational dynamics, and science and technology. She is Vice-President of the Research Committee on the Sociology of Science and Technology at the International Sociological Association’s World Congress of Sociology (2023-2027). Wang published her book State-Market Interactions in China’s Reform Era: Local State Competition and Global Market Building in the Tobacco Industry (2013, Routledge). She is currently completing a book, Path-Detouring: The Rise of the Chinese Techno-Nation, under contract with Oxford University Press.
