In collaboration with the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, DigiChina has released an issue brief on China's open-weight large language model (LLM) ecosystem. We survey the landscape, profile four prominent model families, and assess both diversity and commonality in China's open-weigh AI scene. Finally, we assess potential policy implications for countries and interests around the world.
